This course discusses the basis of biological energetics. It explains the light dependent and light independent stages of photosynthesis and covers an introduction to the various photosynthetic pathways: C₃, C₄ and CAM and the concepts of limiting factors of photosynthesis. It also explains uptake and transportation of water, minerals and products of photosynthesis. It also includes: cellular respiration; photorespiration; aerobic and anaerobic respiration; glycolysis; Krebs cycle; and electron transport systems and the generation of energy compounds such as ATP. This course concludes explaining response and coordination in plants.
