Hospitality & Tourism Law

This course introduces legal principles together with standard business law concepts and emphasizes their implications for the hospitality and tourism industry. It identifies areas where there may be potential legal problems and discusses rights and liabilities relative to relationships within the industry. Among the topics to be discussed are: contracts, torts and negligence, hotel/guest relationship, consumer protection, and employment laws. Throughout the course case studies involving the basic principles of law will be introduced, this is to assist students in developing judgment in these areas of the law.
