BCHM 102 - Introduction to Organic and Biochemistry (Tamara Recinos)

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of organic chemistry and biochemistry. Topics include: physical and chemical properties of hydrocarbons: alkanes, alkenes and arenes; halogen derivatives; hydroxyl compounds: alcohols and phenols; carbonyl compounds: Aldehydes and ketones; carboxylic acids and esters; nitrogen compounds; and biomolecules: carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids.
