AGRI 126 - Principles of Crop Production - GA
This introductory course provides students with the fundamentals of crop production with emphasis on crop classification including grains, legumes, vegetables, and root crops. This course introduces and examines vegetable and agro-forestry production systems, growth and development of vegetable crops, the environmental factors affecting crops, varietal development and selection and testing, seedling production, crop management, soil management, water management, crop protection, and postharvest technologies. This course is designed to provide students with current research-based theory and relevant and meaningful field experience that can be applied in appropriate and purposeful ways when venturing into crop production practices.
