Social Philosophy is an introductory course for understanding our society and socio-political development. In the West, several varying and, at times, conflicting views as put forward by Aristotle, Hobbes, Mill, Marx, and King among others, have been put forward to define, describe and explain human society.  This course seeks to introduce students to the theories and original writings on some of the greatest thinkers throughout history in social philosophy and develop their ability to communicate knowledge and ideas to others, as well as apply these ideas in a contemporary context.

This course introduces students to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as the ethical considerations in recording financial information. The process of recording, summarizing and reporting financial information is covered in detail. As well, emphasis will be placed on interpreting and using financial information for decision making. This course is intended to help students to develop understanding of theoretical and practical techniques used in accounting which will enable them to develop skills to participate more effectively in future accounting courses and professional studies of accounting.

This course offers an in-depth exploration of key algebraic concepts and the real number system, designed to build a strong mathematical foundation. You’ll begin by mastering the properties of real numbers, which will serve as the basis for solving and graphing a variety of equations and inequalities. As you progress, you'll perform essential operations on polynomials and exponents, and learn to factorize complex algebraic expressions with confidence. The course also covers solving equations and inequalities involving two variables, along with mastering the techniques needed to solve systems of linear equations. By the end of this course, you'll be equipped with the skills necessary for advanced mathematics and practical problem-solving.

This introductory course provides students with the basic principles of animal science and livestock production with emphasis on nutrition, health, selection, breeding, reproduction, husbandry, management, and environmental considerations. This course will enhance students’ knowledge of the interaction between domestic animals, plants, trees and human beings before they undertake livestock production courses. Restraint methods, rope works (rope tying, roping, and tying of animals to restrain for treatments) and controls in chutes are taught. In addition, tool maintenance, use of disinfectants, identification of livestock and silvo-pastoral, breeds and record keeping are taught.

This course is a study of the concepts of marketing and its roles in society.  Topics include implications of different business concepts, marketing management, marketing research, principles of segmentation, product management, pricing strategy, distribution strategy, promotion strategy, consumer behavior, and the environment of markets.

“Principles of Marketing” is a business management course which focuses on the methods and techniques used by businesses to effectively market their products. It highlights strategies that can be employed to maximize and ensure the effectiveness of a business’s marketing strategies. This course encompasses the dimensions and methods of improving marketing strategies, which contributes to the overall profitability of a firm. Finally it identifies the challenges that are faced by marketing departments, and ways in which the effects/impacts of challenges can be overcome and minimized.

The aim of the first semester of Microeconomics is to provide candidates with an adequate knowledge and understanding of the tools of economic analysis and the situations and problems to which these tools are applied. The main topics in this course are the Central problem of Economics, Tools of Economics Analysis, Theory of Consumer Demand, and the Theory of Supply.  The main purpose is to apply these concepts of microeconomics to real-life problems.  Issues like government regulations, taxation, antitrust policy, public goods, technological change and policies towards the environment will be covered.  The course is intended to provide the basis for a board understanding of economics and to provide a satisfactory basis for further study of the subject.
